Day 146 Of Coronavirus Shutdown

Hello bloggers. Today is day 146 of my Coronavirus shutdown.

Today we're not going to talk about Coronavirus.

This evening I got a text from a friend saying they were about to get hit with some strong thunderstorms. Now anyone who truly knows me knows that I use to be a big time weather watcher. I still love it to this day. I use to run another blog completely dedicated to meteorology and storm tracking. So needless to say that once my friend sent me that text I couldn't resist jumping back into the tracking chair. I booted up the laptop and logged into my radar. What I saw did not disappoint me on a storm tracking level.

Squall lines are pretty common in the Midwest. A squall line of storms is what you're looking at above. When I saw that large bow and dark reds I called my friend back right away. This storm was packed with strong winds of 60+ MPH, heavy rainfall and hail. With the high winds clearly being the biggest threat.

I wanted to go ahead and share a few reports that came flooding in as this storm rolled through. Take a look below.

Multiple reports came in of trees and power lines down across the state of Indiana. Bourbon, Morocco, and West Lafayette, being just a few.

Many high wind reports of over 60 and 70 mph. Lafayette, IN reported a gust of 63 mph. Veedersburg, came in with a peak gust of 67 mph and Camdon, and Russiaville, Indiana reported peak wind gusts of 70 mph. Attica, IN in Fountain county also recorded a peak wind gust of 70 mph.

Reports are still coming in as I write this.

It's not everyday I get to track thunderstorms now that I no longer live in the Midwest. But it was nice to be able to jump back into it and help ease some minds. Snowstorms are what I get to track now. Where I live it's all about the snow! (And I'm okay with that).

That's it for now. Just wanted to do a quick drop in weather post lol.

Thanks for taking the time to read. Carry on!

Also WEAR A MASK and practice Social Distancing.
