Going Full Clark Griswold!

Good morning bloggers. It's been a little while since my last post. I've been keeping busy the past week or so. I started my stay-cation last Saturday so I've been getting a lot of things done. Getting ready for a friends wedding and also getting ready for the holidays.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner for which I will have a Thanksgiving forecast posted soon. But in the meantime, let me share with you what it is I've been working on.

Getting ready for the holidays.

As you all know I said that I have been working on getting my outside Christmas lights hung up in order to beat the cold and snow. Well, I finally finished! And I think it looks beautiful.
You are looking at a whopping 2,272 Christmas lights strung across my home. In a way, this is kind of like my own version of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I've gone full Clark Griswold! LOL. This is the most lights I have put up since living in Rochester. I blew three different fuses trying to find the perfect amount of lights that one outlet could hold lol. I had bad bulbs in strands that took forever to find. You know the old saying "When one light goes out they all go out". Well, that is the truth! lol But the finished product was well worth it. This picture really doesn't do it justice. It looks much better in person.

I also made one decoration in the picture above. That little Christmas tree you see next to the candy canes. I made that by stringing 250 lights around an upside down tomato cage. Worked perfectly. Feel free to steal that idea.
In addition to the outside lights, I also started my indoor display as well. My wife always tries to get me to wait until after Thanksgiving to put up our tree as I'm sure most of you reading this would agree. However I'm a big child when it comes to the holidays. I just cannot wait that long. So I did it the week before Thanksgiving this year lol. It's just so merry and bright. Who doesn't like that?.

Plus it makes for great relaxing / reading time. And what better way to enjoy a stay-cation than to have a cozy Christmassy place to relax?
My wife and I have spent every evening just sitting by the tree together either watching a tv show, football, or reading. It's been nice. Even the animals feel the relaxing joy of the room. I took this video of our pups Joey and Roo last night playing on the sofa.
So that's what I've been up to the past week bloggers. The weather has actually been fairly calm so I haven't had much to track. I'm sure that will change however as we head into Thanksgiving and the start of December.

I will try to check back again soon. I have that wedding on Thursday in Long Island. I will be sure to bring back some stories and photos.

Have a great day and as always I thank you for taking time out of your day to read my silly words :)
