Latest On The Approaching Snow Storm. (Rochester, NY Winter Storm Watch)

I have to start with the Rochester, NY forecast. We are in for our first big snow of the season. The National Weather Service has gone ahead and Issued a Winter Storm Watch.

Monroe-Wayne-Northern Cayuga-Livingston-Ontario-
Including the cities of Rochester, Newark, Fair Haven, Geneseo,
and Canandaigua

...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH
TUESDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 10
  inches possible.

* WHERE...The Genesee Valley and western Finger Lakes.

* WHEN...From Monday morning through Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Travel conditions will deteriorate during the day
  Monday, with the heaviest snowfall rates and worst travel from
  late Monday afternoon through late Monday night.

That's right, A winter weather watch is in effect from Monday morning through Tuesday morning. At this time I think I'm comfortable increasing our expected snowfall range to 7" to 10" inches possible in the Rochester, area. That is what I believe will be fairly wide spread. Some areas more east of Rochester, could see higher amounts.

Our high temperature will be hit early Monday. Looking for a high around 32* degrees and then falling as the day continues. Expect a low Monday night around 22*.

Now for the Lafayette, IN area. For all you family members back in the Midwest. Lets get to your forecast. 

You may not have near as much snow to worry about however you will be much much colder!

I'm calling for snow showers Monday with an expected snowfall range of 1" to 3" inches. You will also hit your high temperature early around 32* degrees. That temperature will also continue to fall through out the day. Your low temperature is where the fun begins. Cold air over that fresh snow pack. Look for a low Monday night around 15* degrees. Breezy conditions will make for a wind chill near 0*.

So needless to say, Winter is coming at us both pretty hard Monday. Lets all brace for it and take it in stride. BRING ON THAT SNOW!!!!!
