Good afternoon bloggers. It's been a little while since my last post. I've been a busy person lately. Sometimes you have to take a break with hobbies. As I said in my very first post on this blog, There will be times when there is a gap in posts. And that's okay.
One thing I have noticed since my last update is that we have been seeing unseasonable weather in the Rochester area. Not just here though. All over the country. I'm talking about very warm highs for this time of year. And a big lack in precipitation. Snow! It's been very frustrating for me. As most of you know, I'm a big time snow lover. Well..... I feel like I'm being cheated this winter. I've only used my snow blower two time this year. One was for a 15" Inch snowfall and the other was for an 8"inch snowfall. That's been it...
When I came downstairs this morning I let the dogs outside for their morning business. I walk out and was shocked at how warm it was. I check the temperature and it was 56* degrees at 8:30am. ???? What!!!??? On January 11th?!?!
Do you see what is wrong with this picture? Yeah.. It's January 11th in Rochester, NY and the windows are OPEN! Something just isn't right.
The average high temperature for this time of year in Rochester, is around 32* degrees. Today we are expected to hit a high of 61* degrees. That's a good 29* degrees above where we should be.
This has happened before however. Whenever we see unseasonably warm temperatures I like to look back in history. See what the record high was for that day. So on January 11th back in 1975 the Rochester, area actually hit a record high of 63* degrees! Though we are not expecting to set a new record high this afternoon, we will certainly be close.
The question that I'm asking right now is "When will winter finally arrive?". Well, at this time it's looking like we will see temperatures fall once again by next Thursday. I'm looking for a Rochester, high around 32* degrees and falling through out the day. Also we will track what is looking to be a fairly strong low pressure system that will dump a mix of rain changing over to snow across our area. How much rain and snow is still unknown at this time. It is looking like we will settle into a more cold pattern as we reach the middle of next week.
So what else have I been up to? Well, the Brain Turds Podcast is back baby! Above is a image of the set up. This is where all the magic happens. Back in the day my buddy Mark and I use to do a radio style show called "Brain Turds". Once I moved away however we had to call it quits do to the distance. Well, thanks to technology we have found a way to get the show going again. So that too has been taking up a little bit of my time. Man we missed doing this show.
If you're interested in checking it out. You can click the Brain Turds picture on the top right of this blog. Otherwise just click the link below.
