It's been a log time since my last post. I honestly just haven't had a whole lot to post about. That and I've been busy with the podcast. Click Here For The Podcast . So if you would like to see (Or hear rather) what we've been up too, go ahead and click that podcast link above and give it a listen. Mark and I have been pretty good about having at least one show a week. Talking about anything from Rocky, to NFL to the new and exciting XFL.
Aside from the podcast, I still have wildlife in my yard. I tend to occionally feel the wildlife lol. Last night I put out some seed crackers for whomever may stop by. I had a big turn out for the late night snack!
Take a peak.
We had a total of five deer show up last night. A little family. Someone said it looks like I'm running a farm of deer lol.
We live near a fairly big park that is pretty full of deer. So they must live near by. A white-tailed deer’s home range is usually less the a square mile. White-tailed deer collect in family groups of a mother and her fawns. When a doe has no fawns, she is usually solitary. Male bucks may live in groups consisting of 3 to 5 individuals, except in mating season, when they are solitary. In this video above it looks to me like this was mostly a mother and her fawns.
White-tailed deer are typically very nervous and shy. They wave their tails from side to side when they are startled and fleeing. The deer around here however are fairly brave. Usually when I'm running through the park they let you get like ten feet from them. They're very trusting being in a park where hunting obviously isn't allowed.
White-tailed deer have good eyesight and acute hearing, but depend mainly on their sense of smell to detect danger and their ability to run and bound quickly through dense vegetation to escape danger.
They are extremely agile, sprinting up to 30 miles per hour and leaping as high as 10 feet and as far 30 feet in a single bound. This is why the deer fencing in my back yard doesn't work lol.
I love these little guys and gals. I don't feed them often, however when I do it's always cool to see them stop by.
That's it for now bloggers. I'll try to check back again soon.
Thanks for reading.
