Hello everyone.
Well, day 4 of the Coronavirus shut down has started with little Joey and I waking up at the crack of down again. Poor guy was having some reverse sneeze issues. He does it every once in a while. So I got up with him to let my wife sleep in. She needs all the sleep she can get these days. (working the front lines as a nurse).
Joey and I grabbed a book from our little home library, a hot cup of coffee and chilled out in the warm sun rays. It's only 26 degrees outside today, (Wind chill of 16*) but the sun coming through that window was nice and warm.
The book of choice for now is another John Sandford (Virgil Flowers) novel. Bloody Genius. Which just happens to be his newest one. I got this book for Christmas from my wife. What better time to crack open a new book?!
So as we are all on Coronavirus shut down and every non essential business is closed, that obviously means no gyms. Well, thank goodness I built my own home gym years ago lol. I've never been so happy to have one as I am currently. With today's temperatures being in the 20s I decided to break out the ole rower machine.
35 minutes on this bad boy and you're sweating like a monster! lol Nice home cardio followed by some home weight lifting is a great way to keep moving and keep your spirits up during these weird and different times of lock down.
I hope everyone knows that you truly don't need a home gym of your own to have a nice workout and stay moving / healthy while on lock down. You are still allowed to go outside. Walks / Runs etc. You can easily do body weight exercises inside your home. Sit-ups, Push-ups, Running in place, Jumping jacks. The list of things you can do are endless. Do a home workout Google Search and you will be amazed at what you will find. So please stay active and keep your spirits up!
What's another way to keep your spirits up you ask? Well, how about some March Madness Basketball??? I got home from a walk with my wife and pups and turned on the TV to find this on CBS.
The coronavirus pandemic has led to the cancellation of what should have been an incredible 2020 NCAA Tournament. But that doesn’t mean that we’ll be left entirely without college hoops for the next few weeks.
CBS is going to be airing some classic NCAA Tournament games to fill the voids. Three famous games will air each day on March 21, 22, and 29. The nine total games are eight national title contests and one Elite Eight match-up. Pretty cool huh? Like I've said a few times on this blog, "We are living through history" and also "These are weird times". lol. But I gotta say, I LOVE this throw back to classic basketball. It's great!
Here is the list of what games are being played and when you can watch them.
