Day 15 Of Coronavirus Shut Down

Welcome welcome everyone. This is day 15 of the Coronavirus shut down. Well, if any of you have been following this blog for a while then you'll know that I use to have a Norfolk pine plant back before Christmas that I was trying to take care of. Well..... lol Sadly I have killed it. I watered it too much and it died. However when at first you don't succeed you must try and try again. So I'm trying again.
Meet my newest plant. I'm going to try to keep this beautiful mum alive indoors. Wish me luck. My track record up to this point isn't very good. I'm hoping to change that with this little dude.

The color is so warm and happy. And warm and happy is just what we all need right now. I will try to keep you all updated on it's progress.
So yesterday I talked a little bit about how communities are putting Stuffed bears and toys in their windows to help spread joy during this pandemic. Creating a "Bear Hunt" so to speak for children based on a children's book.

Well while I was out walking my dog I noticed rainbows in a couple neighbors windows. And I thought to myself "I bet this is another joy spreading concept!". And it is! Apparently children from across the world are spreading cheer in the simplest way amid the coronavirus global pandemic.
There are photos from multiple countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Italy, and Canada, of kids painting rainbows and posting them in their windows to cheer up people passing by.
The same is being done here. It's being done right in my own neighborhood to be exact! And it has even led to a rainbow scavenger hunt just like the bear hunt we talked about on here yesterday. Giving the children an outdoor option for those living in places that are under a full 100% non essential work shut down. Every place store etc is closed. But outside is open!

Google Maps has also gotten in on the fun, creating a map of all the participating homes in the nearby area. Everyone is able to access the map and even add their own home to it. Take a look at this image / map below. Showing a lot of people participating. And note that this isn't everyone. There are a lot of people doing this that are not registered on this map.
I mean this truly gives you a perspective of community. We're all truly in this together. The rainbow drawings concept began earlier this month in Italy, which has had the highest number of coronavirus illness related deaths in the world.

And lastly I leave you all with a peak at a drawing I did earlier this afternoon. I've been keeping busy with hobbies through this shut down. Drawing, Cooking, Exercise, And music.

This was my first go at an anatomical heart.
I also wanted to leave you all with this quote from the Dali Lama. I've been reading his book daily as he has a quote for each day of the year. I thought this one was fitting for all of us during this time and all times.
Thank you all as always for stopping by and reading this little blog. I appreciate it. Stay well and stay healthy!
