Day 21 Of Coronavirus Shut Down

It is day 21 of my Coronavirus shut down. Today we finally had some BEAUTIFUL weather. Sunny skies pretty much all day. Highs in the upper 50s to low 60s. Its amazing how just a little bit of sunshine can make you feel so good. I couldn't pass it up. So I went out in my backyard and got some needed yard work done.
I built my wife a little garden sanctuary last summer however I made one crucial mistake. When I originally put down the mulch in the garden I forgot to put down any kind of garden cloth to keep the grass from growing up through it. So I went back and corrected that issue this afternoon.
Also I replaced the red mulch with black mulch. I think it looks much fuller and fresh! And now we won't need to worry about grass growing up through it making it look messy and unfinished.

Today before I started the garden work I got a call from my wife who is a nurse that works in our local hospital. Apparently her and the rest of her department were trying to order lunch. However the earliest delivery time wasn't until hours later. So guess who got a call asking to help out!! If only for a little lol

I was actually thrilled to be able to pick up their lunch and deliver it. I'd do anything for these guys and gals. They truly are our healthcare hero's. So as much as they were thankful for the food, I was WAY more thankful to have been able to help out in a small way.

Much of the rest of the sate of NY has been under shut down longer than I myself have personally been out of work. It has been a total of 37 day's for most.
The 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic peaked in New York for six months! With around 30,000 deaths. This was a slide that Gov, Cuomo shared with us earlier this afternoon. He knows that this is a rough time for us all. He too wants nothing more than for this to be over. But we all need to continue to do our part before that can happen. It's going to take a while but we will get there!
It is also World Health Day today. Every April 7, the World Health Organization chooses to highlight a special theme current in the wellness and medical world. Ranging from mental health to insurance and everything in between, this day sets the tone for what’s to come in the world stage. This year’s World Health Day will shine a light on nurses and midwives, the on-the-call, restless workforce that revolutionized the healthcare industry as we know it today.
Here is a message from Former President Barack Obama. "It’s World Health Day, and we owe a profound debt of gratitude to all our medical professionals. They’re still giving their all for us every day, at great risk to themselves, and we can’t thank them enough for their bravery and their service."
I want to say Thank You again to all of our Healthcare workers. And Thank You again to everyone still out there working in essential work places such as food service etc doing their part. Thank you!

And thank you all again for taking the time to read this blog. I truly appreciate it.

Please stay HOME and SAVE LIVES!
