Day 27 Of The Coronavirus Shutdown

Well, lucky for us here in the Rochester, NY area. We did not see the high damaging winds that the National Weather Service and The Weather Channel was forecasting for us. We had some heavy rainfall and so far a peak wind gust to 43 mph. So all in all, not too bad. I'll take it.

Now, we are on day 27 of the Coronavirus shutdown. Gov, Andrew Cuomo gave another press conference this morning.
As it looks now, what we are doing in the great state of NY is working. We are in fact flatting the curve. As you can see in this chart above we may finally be in the apex. There is still a question mark there at this moment as we can't know for sure that we won't see another spike in cases. However currently it's looking like we have entered the apex.

As Gov, Cuomo has continued to say,  "We have flattened the curve by our actions. New Yorkers rose to the challenge to protect one another. We need to stay the course. We are #NewYorkTough.".

Even though we received some good news today with the apex. We also received some bad news. The amount of people we have lost due to the Coronavirus continues to grow. And when put into perspective it gets even worse.
As you can see above. When comparing this crisis to the lives NY lost on 9/11/01. It's devastating. I mean these numbers above are for NYS alone.

America now has the most Covid-19 cases and deaths in the entire world. The USA has almost 570,000 cases. And almost 23,000 deaths. It's horrible.

So even though we had some good news today, we all need to continue to do our part and stay home. We still have a ways to go to beat this thing.

We are asking you to stay home — it's How You Save A Life.#NewYorkTough pic.twitter.com/2xR1UKYQ8Y
