Day 13 Of Coronavirus Shut Down

Hello bloggers. I love checking in with you all. And I have enjoyed doing it everyday! It's been nice sitting down and writing to you. I am on day 13 of the Coronavirus shut down. That is me personally at least. And today was a pretty chill day. Which in today's world is perfectly fine with me.
I finished a book last night. It was my tenth book of the year. Another John Sandford book from the Virgil Flowers series. It was a good read. A nice solid mystery crime novel. Easy read and perfect for this quarantine time we are all in.

So what happens when you finish a book? Well, you pick out another book to start lol.

Lucky for me I bought a bunch of books from used book stores before all the Covid-19 stuff hit the fan. So I have a lot of un-read books in my personal library. Plenty to choose from.
So for my next / current read. I went with The Whisper Man. I've been told that this is a great book. And a very scary book! I'm about 60 pages in already and it's definitely holding my interest.

Then to finish my day I put together a DELICIOUS dinner for my wife and I. Some home made al-dente macaroni and cheese with grilled chicken. And oh my gosh it was AMAZING! Minced garlic and onions along with some chopped tomatoes gave it perfect flavor. We were in heaven.
Another amazing thing that happened today was the arrival of the Navy hospital ship the USNS Comfort! Governor Andrew Cuomo welcomed the arrival of the Navy hospital ship that will relieve New York hospitals dealing with a rapidly expanding load of coronavirus patients.

The USNS Comfort will provide roughly 1,000 hospital beds, and 1,200 personnel to New York. It will be used to treat patients who don’t have COVID-19 to free up other hospital rooms for coronavirus patients.
You can see it making it's arrival into NY in this image above.  This ship is nearly three football fields long and 10 stories high, making it one of the largest hospital ships in the world.

This image is one that I believe will stick in the minds of everyone going through this pandemic. What a powerful photo. This perfectly captures the severity of the situation not only in the state of NY which is the hardest hit state in the country. But also the situation of the world.

You can see Gov, Cuomo's Tweet above saying how this day will be remembered and that this extra hospital capacity will save lives.

The USNS Comfort has side ports to take on patients at sea as well as helicopter decks for air transport. The vessel is equipped with 12 operating rooms, a blood bank, a medical laboratory, a pharmacy, an optometry lab and a CT scanner. It also has 15 patient wards, 80 ICU beds and 10 elevators to transfer patients between decks.

Today was yet another big day in our country with the arrival of this medical ship. Just another thing we will teach and talk about with our future generations. If you wanted to watch the arrival of the USNS Navy Hospital Ship I have posted the video below. It is a log video but even if you're not watching the whole thing it is still pretty amazing to see it in motion.
I want to thank you all again for stopping by and reading my little blog. Please continue to practice your social distancing and stay well and healthy!
